Team Member

Doris (Dee) Zampella grew up in Green Brook, NJ.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Trenton State College and joined her family insurance and real estate business EA Boniakowski Agency, Inc. in 1978. 

In business, Doris served as the Somerset County Independent Agents’ President for 4 years and served as a director on the NJ State Agents Board for 9 years.  She received the Board Member of the Year award in 2003. She currently serves on the Liberty Mutual Commercial Agents Council.

 Her past community activities include 6 years as a Girl Scout Leader with Rolling Hills, 2 years as secretary of the Dunellen-Green Brook Rotary Club, and 3 years as a Martinsville Rescue Squad trustee.  She received the Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellowship Award and was recognized as one of the 2009 Somerset County Women of the Year with the Shirley Noble Award for Volunteerism. In 2015, the Somerset County Business Partnership named her Citizen of The Year.  Also in 2015, the Adult Day Center of Somerset County honored Dee for her service to the community.      

Doris currently serves as Vice Chair of the Center for Great Expectations Board of Directors, Board member for Empower Somerset, and the Somerset County Business Partnership board.  She is a volunteer first responder and trustee of the Martinsville Rescue Squad, a Charter Member of the United Way Women’s Giving Circle, and volunteers for Operation Shoebox, United Way, and FISH Hospitality.   In 2021, UFG Insurance awarded Dee the Scotty McIntyre, Jr. Go Beyond Award.

Dee is passionate about supporting the Center for Great Expectations, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Rotary, Safe and Sound Somerset, Warren County DASACC, Martinsville Community Center, CASA SHAW, Adult Day Center, Somerset County YMCA, Highland Park Reformed Church, Great Swamp Watershed, State Theater, area Rescue Squads and other local nonprofit organizations both financially and with her time.
